So what more can we say for this French cuisine restaurant which was awarded the Michelin Star. And more stars from all of us, though virtual.
Ondine
Situated just off The Royal Mile, it has a horseshoe shaped crustacean bar with restaurant and the private dining room. This very stylish yet simple restaurant serves first class seafood, offering choices which suit most palates. 6 Oysters Selection, Shallot Vinegar & Chorizo, sea bream curry are a few favorites. As they offer seasonal menu, a new selection is always available. A must visit for all foodies.
La Favorita
Tony Crolla’s La Favorita is one of the best pizzeria in Britain. Opting for its Leith walk establishment or calling their home delivery service, what you get is the best wood-fire oven cooked pizza, pastas and gluten-free dishes with the best quality ingredients. This value for money Italian restaurant has an excellent and friendly staff with a bright dining room.
Wedgwood
Paul Wedgwood’s restaurant is simply the best with the most unusual menu, offering French, English and International cuisines. Try pork belly or pigeon served with haggis, neeps and tatties or nettle soup with poached quail egg, at Wedgwood the restaurant you couldn’t go wrong. The high culinary peaks with Paul’s innovation truly make it an exceptional dining experience.
Kweilin
This Cantonese restaurant serves authentic Chinese food using the finest local produce, with an array of seafood to us an enjoyable dining experience which is cherished for a long time. The crispy duck and bean curd with vegetables and wafer paper prawns are a must try. The starters at this spectacular place are highly recommended.
The Grain Store
The Grain Store offers the very best of Scottish- beef and lamb. With the view of the Victoria Street and the historic West Bow, this restaurant on the upper floor provides an intimate dining room with wooden tables and bare walls. Perfect setting, even perfect service with the best quality Scottish produce; this is the place you would want to come back time after time.
The Honours
Right from entering this classic brasserie, through the meal and ending with the finest dessert, it is praise, admiration to say the least. No wonder the waiting list keeps increasing as it is also reasonably priced. As Michelin-starred chef Martin Wishart says- “it’s a restaurant where traditional French cuisine meets the flavors of the Scottish market.” True, very true.
Dusit
Thinking of Thai food – Dustit is the place u will be recommended and for the right reasons. It’s a place that serves Thai food with a Scottish twist. Located on Thistle Street, it is always fully booked. The scallops, king prawns or monkfish variety are a must have though there are lots of other choices even for meat lovers. After submerging yourself with the main course, if you are still game for a dessert then their minimal dessert menu will not disappoint you.
Sushiya
It’s tiny with a bar setting arrangement but always crammed for place as it serves the best sushi in town. It offers the best Japanese food outside Japan and at a very reasonable price. The dragon rolls, Salmon sashimi and eel nigiri are to die for. Just book well in advance.
