2012 London Olympics – The Olympic Mascot
A one eyed mascot??? I mean yes it can be possible but doesn’t it sound a bit weird? If you are into thinking pirates, you are majorly wrong!! The 2012 London Olympics mascots have been revealed!
Wenlock and Mandeville, which are essentially two towns in England, are the mascots for the upcoming Olympic and Para-Olympic games.
What’s even more bizarre is that neither of them are said to have any specified gender! Logic behind the idea according to Sebastian Coe is that, when interviewed, children expressed their desire to have something they could talk to and have a nice story to relate to. They did not really want a cute stuffed toy to cuddle with.
It is also being claimed that their shiny outlook is a reflection of the places, people and other things in UK and represent the feel of UK. Popular legend says that these steel structures are made out of the cycloptic blobs of the last drops of British Steel used at the 2012 London Olympics.
The mysterious creatures definitely raise curiosity even in our minds, let alone the young ones! The wait to know the story is getting impatient by every day.
