How London got it through to host the Olympics 2012?
The main location for the London Olympic Games is the newly developed Olympic Park in the east part of London. It will be the proud site for quite a number of exciting games. - Moscow (Russian Federation)
- Madrid (Spain), and
- London (UK)
The finishing verdict came on the 6th of July, 2005, at 117th IOC Session held in Singapore wherein London came out as the triumphant to host the 30th Olympic Games. It swept straight majority by snatching 54 votes out of 104, thus keeping just 50 votes to be shared among the rivals. Central venues for the games will be the Olympic Stadium along with Velodrome, Aquatics Centre, & BMX circuit. Situated at various short distances, these arenas will be connected through simple walkways and bridges. Arenas for hockey, handball & basketball will also be nearby and inside the Olympic Park. The park will be quite near the Olympic village which will be quite comforting for the officials and the participants as they will then have to spend quite a less amount of time in reaching their respective venues. Some esteemed venues of sports such as Wembley for football, All-England Badminton Court and Lord’s Cricket Ground for all archery & horse guard parade for the beach volleyball-will also be highlighted in the London Olympics and Paralympics.
London Games will be a sixty day festival starting from 27th of July this year, enclosing exciting sport events and cultural acts across UK with some superb events that include 26 Olympic contests in 34 venues and 20 Paralympics contests in 21 venues. With over 15000 combined Paralympics and Olympic athletes in the games. Expectations are that over 20,000 media officials from all over the world will be present covering the location and a sale of above 9 million tickets is expected this time.

Madrid

Paris
Paris is likely to show a small growth in its population from 11.1 million to about 11.5 million in this year. With the image of long history between the games and the French, Paris played a significant role in the candidature process of selecting the host of Olympic Games. It proposed the concept of two bunches of venues that would host around 17 contests.
